He first made contact (hiding behind an alias) because in his isolation he needed information ... and to connect with people who might understand where he was 'at'.

Long before the Internet, many such men found their way to FETTERS when they had become ready to explore rather than repress their natural instincts. Their questions & suggestions, fantasies & achievements made this site what it is ... a forum for the exchange of information. “Callum” was typical of such men - he had things to tell as well as ask.

Much of what I learned from him has been scattered around this site since it was launched.
But, recently (April 2008), feedback from site visitors has prompted me to add more details about the man himself and, at the same time, identify his contribution to information already on-site.

But, recently (April 2008), feedback from site visitors has prompted me to add more details about the man himself and, at the same time, identify his contribution to information already on-site.
	The list of separate ‘topic’ files below does not offer a story told step-by-step in the order it happened. It is a patchwork; nuggets of information which cropped up during physical experiments or laid-back late-night casual conversations. Brought together, the separate files paint an impressionistic picture of a life resolutely segregated into different compartments. His public, private, professional personalities and his darkest secret dreams only connected gradually like pieces in a jigsaw puzzle as I got to know him over a period of 25 years. To tell his story, involved exploring separately, different aspects of his complicated existence. Even the file of his earliest letters to me leaps around in time and topics - because he, personally, edited several years of our correspondence for publication in the Bondage Reader series. A few details of his real life still can not be told, perhaps because of the Official Secret’s Act - perhaps because some of his close mates are still actively working covertly for government agencies either here or abroad. But, before his untimely death, this ex-Royal Navy engineer and sports enthusiast learned to share more of his secret self. His early questions added to the first FETTERS Information Sheets in 1981. His testing of FETTERS prototype restraints contributed to making them super-efficient. His enthusiasm for self-testing, his technical expertise, his real-life experience, his fertile imagination, his confusion over his darkest inclinations ... is spread across this site in a strong network of reliable information. While collecting together various episodes, a lot more details of conversations, experiments and hours of challenge and counter-challenge have surfaced. There's more to tell ... and there are repetitions on site to eliminate. The list below offers a logical flow of information without being chronological. Individual 'topics' files combine to give a detailed background with vivid highlights. Hard facts mix with fantasy in the telling of some actual events. Time spent with this real-life man-of-action contributed information later used in some of my hottest ‘fiction based on real life’ stories. The fact / fiction theme runs through several of the following pages. For me, even the wildest jerk-off scenario becomes more potent if it is based on achievable reality.
